How to use this Free Short Answer Test Maker

1. Create your short answer test

1. Enter the title for your test in the "Test Title" field. For example: "Chapter 2 Review Questions" or "Geography Quiz".

2. If needed, add instructions for test takers in the "Instructions" field. You can specify how detailed the answers should be or any special directions.

3. For each question:

  • Enter your question text
  • Select how many answer lines you need (1-20) using the dropdown menu
  • Each answer line will be labeled with a letter (a, b, c, etc.). If you want to use numbers intead, or disable labels, use "Labels for answer lines" feature at the bottom of the form.

4. If more questions have to be added to the test, click "Add Fields" or enter a number and click "Add Fields" to add multiple blocks at once.

5. Click "Generate Test" to create your printable short answer test.

2. Customize and use your generated test

1. After processing your questions, the generator creates a short answer test with specified number of answer lines for each question.

2. The "Shuffle Questions" button lets you reorder your questions randomly. This helps create a unique test version for each student.

3. Customize the document header by showing or hiding the "Name" and "Date" fields using the provided checkbox.

4. Before printing, select either A4 or Letter page size based on your printer requirements, and adjust the font size.

5. Use the "Copy" button to copy your complete test to your clipboard for further editing in a word processor.

6. The "Print" button allows printing, while the "PDF" button saves your test as a PDF document.

7. If you need to modify quiz questions or adjust the number of answer lines, click "Try Again" button to return to the previous screen.
